Faith Communities have worked with Non-profit organizations, governments, and service providers, on conditions of importance such as, retributive justice, environmental repair and social justice, poverty, peace and reconciliation, and violence against women. This course will examine examples of various approaches to creating God’s Beloved Community and eliminating suffering. Examples will be taken from South Africa, Rwanda, and India. The course will help students get an understanding of how interrelated global challenges are; as a result, local issues can be addressed using similar skill sets at the local level. Students will be challenged to apply fully proven solutions from other parts of the world to address those of concern in their communities or churches. Students will choose a topic of special concern to them and explore how other models might be applied in their ministry context.
