This course explores core concepts and practices of community organizing, coalition building, and asset-based community development ​ (ABCD) as an approach to faith-based ministry and community engagement. Students will learn asset mapping, community organizing strategies, facilitative leadership skills, and planning tools for achieving community transformation. The learning goal is to apply new concepts and techniques/methods to one’s ongoing work in community ministry and create practical knowledge and collective wisdom through collaboration.
